Nearly 90% Of Businesses Fail To Comply With California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Says New Research By InfoSecEnforcer

InfoSecEnforcer, a leader in automated CCPA compliance software, has released new findings from a statewide research study that shows less than 12% of California businesses are in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2020.

Silicon Valley, CA – InfoSecEnforcer, a leading specialist in CCPA compliance automation software, has announced findings from a recent research study of 36,394 California-based businesses. Launching this study to understand trends of compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), InfoSecEnforcer discovered that only 11.5% of surveyed businesses are in compliance. This finding is alarming, and non-compliant California businesses shall increasingly find themselves on the receiving end of warning letters from California’s Office of the Attorney General.

With final regulations confirmed in August 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a new consumer protection measure that grants unprecedented privacy rights to consumers. Under the CCPA, California residents maintain rights to access, delete, and opt-out from the sale of personal data collected by businesses, with additional anti-discrimination provisions in place to regulate the use of consumer data. The CCPA applies to all for-profit entities that do business in California with annual gross revenues in excess of $25 million, or which hold the personal information of 50,000 or more consumers, households, or devices, or earn half of their revenues from selling consumer personal information.

This trend of non-compliance is a startling reality, in the new digital age, that opens up businesses to newfound liability for failing to provide consumers with the protections afforded to them under the CPPA. InfoSecEnforcer is helping to reverse this trend with a new wave of automatic compliance tools and is presently offering free compliance software to all entities doing business in California so they can avoid costly administrative burdens that accompany non-compliance, and which may include formal warning letters, monetary penalties of up to $7,500 per violation, or prosecution. InfoSecEnforcer has managed to pave a new path to compliance for all entities doing businesses in the state.

“The CCPA is one of the most expensive pieces of privacy legislation to come through the legislature,” remarked DV Dronamraju, Founder of InfoSecEnforcer. “Entities doing business in California must fall into compliance with CCPA using new tools, techniques, and measures that protect consumer privacy rights. Non-compliance with the CCPA attracts strong penalties and lack of privacy breach prevention attracts class action lawsuits.”

About InfoSecEnforcer

Based in Silicon Valley, InfoSecEnforcer is cloud-based software to help businesses and corporations remain CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) compliant in the digital age. The CCPA went into enforcement on July 1, 2020, requiring all companies who served California residents to make over $25 million in annual revenue or collect personal data of 50,000 people or more to provide the consumer with all of the data that has been collected on them at any given time. Failure to comply with this new law results in hefty penalties, and several businesses now even face private legal action for privacy breaches. InfoSecEnforcer has the solution for this by providing CCPA Compliance Automation to its customers, taking the tech and the fuss out of remaining compliant, and protecting the company. In addition, InfoSecEnforcer also provides privacy breach prevention software, with a goal to free the World of Data Breaches.
