Rehab Clinic Launches Online Addiction Assessment Test
An alcohol and drug addiction clinic has launched a special self-assessment test to help people establish whether they need to seek professional help.
There are two types of test – one focused on alcohol consumption and one focused on drug use. The online alcohol test is a series of questions to determine who much alcohol you are consuming, what your pattern of consumption is and the repercussions of drinking.
The drug test will establish which types of drugs you are taking – marijuana, narcotics or prescription drugs, how you get these drugs, who around you is using drugs, patterns for drug use and the implications in your life of taking drugs.
A spokesperson from 1000 Islands Addiction Rehab & Treatment Centre said: “This test is designed to help people to take the first step in reaching out to us. But it is absolutely key that they are honest and open or we won’t be able to make a proper assessment.
“At the end of the test, people are asked to submit their name, email and phone number. This means that we can contact them and informally chat through the results of their self-assessment test. This is where the hard work begins as people start to come to terms with the issues they have related to alcohol and drugs.
“We have found that this is a great way for people to get that reality check they need to start getting help. Having it written down in black and white in front of them and having to make decision on which button they should press to indicate their answer, gets them thinking. Then once the results come through and they get feedback from a professional – the realization kicks in. It is a very powerful tool.
“We would encourage anyone who is concerned they have a problem with alcohol or drugs, or anyone who thinks they need to take the first steps to getting help, to take the test. It is free and can be accessed on our website. It could be the very first to transforming your life,” he added.
