Incubate IP Welcomes Gage Meyers As Of Counsel
Glen Ellyn, IL – Incubate IP recently welcomed Gage Meyers as Of Counsel into the Intellectual Property Law Firm. Gage, who grew up in the Barrington area, attended Augustana College. There he graduated with a B.A in Political Science and Asian Studies, Magna Cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, in 2017. It was there he learned how to speak conversational Japanese.
Gage earned his Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School in Iowa. While attending law school, Gage specialized in intellectual property law. During this time, he worked as a research assistant and legal assistant at Drake University Law School and at the Iowa Secretary of State. As a legal assistant, he worked with small businesses and corporate clients in developing and protecting their brand. He reviewed policies on state trademark applications, developed a trademark reviewal guide for non-lawyers, and initiated the construction of a state trademark database. He also conducted legal research and analysis regarding business transactions, cybersecurity, agricultural liens, UCC filings, remote notarization, and intellectual property.
Prior to working with Incubate IP, Gage interned for Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, and Prairie State Legal Services Inc. Away from legal work, Gage expressed his passion for music as both Assistant Music Director and Music Director for WAUG Radio (Rock Island, IL).
Gage has given back to the community by volunteering with Projects of the Heart as a Youth Counsellor for close to 5 years. He worked closely with the founder, Jim Heart. According to Meyers, “Together we would work with the children at Camp One Step in Wisconsin to enrich the lives of the campers. My responsibilities included teaching the children how to play golf, working events away from the camp, and assisting other volunteers at Camp One Step.” Meyers believes that youth counselors must act as positive role models of respect, responsibility, and personal growth. Gage often spends his free time playing tabletop games with his friends.
